Essex Therapy Dogs is proud to have received national recognition through the Good Morning Britain 1 Million Minutes Volunteer Champion Award, celebrating the dedication and impact of its volunteers and their therapy dogs across Essex.
The award recognises the outstanding contribution made by volunteers who give their time to support others, and highlights the meaningful difference therapy dog visits bring to communities throughout the county.
Each week, Essex Therapy Dogs volunteers and their dogs visit hospitals, schools, care homes and community settings, offering comfort, companionship and moments of calm to people who may be unwell, anxious or feeling isolated. These visits often have a profound effect on both those receiving them and the staff who support them.
