Essex Therapy Dogs featured on ITV Anglia and ITV London News, supporting anxious passengers at Southend Airport

We’re incredibly proud to share that Essex Therapy Dogs recently featured on ITV, highlighting the work our amazing volunteers and their dogs do across the community.

The piece focused on the growing role of therapy dogs in supporting people with anxiety—particularly at Southend Airport, where our dogs help nervous flyers feel calmer and more at ease before travelling. It was wonderful to see this special work recognised and shared with a wider audience.

From care homes and hospitals to schools, courts and community spaces, our volunteers give their time every week to bring comfort, connection and moments of joy to those who need it most. Hearing the stories and seeing the impact on screen was a real reminder of just how powerful these visits can be.

We’re so grateful to ITV for shining a light on therapy dog work, and to every one of our volunteers who make this possible.

If you’re interested in becoming part of Essex Therapy Dogs, we’d love to hear from you.
