Essex Therapy Dogs continues to grow across the county

Essex Therapy Dogs is proud to be supporting communities across the county with a growing team of dedicated volunteers and their remarkable dogs.

The organisation now has over 400 volunteers and 365 registered therapy dogs visiting more than 400 establishments across Essex, including hospitals, schools, care settings, hospices and community organisations.

With over 100 different breeds of dog taking part — from very small companion breeds to gentle giant therapy dogs — each volunteer team brings comfort, companionship and connection to people of all ages and circumstances. Every visit is carefully arranged to ensure the right dog is matched to the right environment, helping create calm and positive experiences wherever they go.

Founder Tina said:
“We are incredibly proud of our volunteers and their dogs. Each one gives their time so generously to support others across Essex. Seeing how much comfort and reassurance these visits bring to people is truly humbling, and we’re grateful to everyone who makes this work possible.”

As the organisation continues to grow, Essex Therapy Dogs remains committed to maintaining the high standards, careful assessments and supportive community that ensure every visit is safe, meaningful and enjoyable for both volunteers and the people they support.

The work of Essex Therapy Dogs continues to make a quiet but powerful difference across Essex every single day.
